Master Gardeners are trained volunteers sharing their love and knowledge of gardening while serving a vital role to the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Our members have been trained and certified by attending a one day a week class for 13 weeks, usually in the spring, at a local Alabama Cooperative Extension Service office. As a requirement of certification, interns are required to perform community service hours and usually have a great time doing it, making new friendships and learning about all aspects of gardening through many fun hands-on experiences. There are endless rewarding opportunities to meet the required hours. We help educate our members and the public through workshops, seminars and other educational events throughout the year.
Below are photos from a few of our monthly meetings. Come join in on the fun while learning about everything and anything having to do with gardening and associated endeavors.
