CCMGA MBG Project August Volunteer Day

August 19 @ 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • This event has passed.

Join the MBG Project Committee Volunteers on Tuesday to complete some timely tasks to keep the gardens beautiful.  We will be working together on the following:

1. Thinning of the rows of Canna Lilies.
2. Replacing the plants around the urns in the entrance circle beds with plants for the fall.  These beds need to look really good for visitors in the fall.
3. Pruning of the plants in the Sensory Garden, especially the Mullein, and the prolific grass.
4.  Transplanting a Butterfly bush out of a wet area into a more suitable spot.
5. The Pollinator Beds, will need pruning of their larger specimens like Turk’s Cap, Salvia, etc.
6. Maybe planting a few Hostas and Coral Belles.
7. Removing vines and weeds from the large Forsythia shrubs.

Dress for gardening chores and wear gloves, and hats.  Bring your clippers, shovel, trowel, and maybe a folding chair for rest periods.  If you prefer to start earlier, contact Karen Weber for instructions.  If the teams for each Pollinator Garden prefers to start earlier, please go ahead and get started.
